Submission Information

To accurately identify your mystery plants we need information.

Written information (i.e. habitat, growth habit), whether you are sending a photo or plant sample, is  important for identifying your plant.

Photo submissions:

  • send several photos taken from various angles.

  • include a common item in the photo (i.e. pen, coin) for terms of reference

Plant submissions:

  • send several plants (do not include soil)

  • press individual plants/plant parts flat against a file folder/cardboard and tape the entire sample with clear packing tape

  • do not send plants wrapped in plastic

  • plants deteriorate quickly so it is recommended that samples be send by courier
